Pausing and Deleting a Pipeline
You can pause any Pipeline that is in an Active state and resume it at a later time. This feature allows you to hold off the ingestion and resume it later.
However, if you do not need a Pipeline anymore, you can go ahead and delete it. Deleting a pipeline helps you to control and reduce Event usage. Once a Pipeline is deleted, it cannot be restored.
To pause or delete the Pipeline, navigate to the Pipeline details:
-
Click PIPELINES in the Navigation Bar to open the Pipelines List View.
-
Search for and select the Pipeline you want to pause or delete.
-
Perform the steps listed in the following sections, as needed.
Pausing a Pipeline
Most of the active Pipelines can be paused except Pipelines with streaming Sources like Google Drive, MailChimp, Github, Intercom, and Webhook. This is because Hevo listens for data from these Sources on a REST endpoint.
Note: You must be assigned the Team Administrator, Team Collaborator, Pipeline Administrator, or Pipeline Collaborator role in Hevo, to pause a Pipeline.
To pause the Pipeline:
-
Click the PAUSE button in the Pipeline Summary bar.
This changes the status of the Pipeline to PAUSED, and the PAUSE button changes to RESUME. Along with this, any task associated with the Pipeline is also paused.
-
Similarly, click RESUME to resume the Pipeline.
Deleting a Pipeline
You can delete a Pipeline in Hevo with just a few clicks. The data already loaded to the Destination (before Pipeline deletion) remains unaffected when you delete a Pipeline. However, all the data that has been ingested but not yet loaded into the Destination is dropped. All Transformations and schemas in the Pipeline too are deleted. Read Customer Data Retention and Encryption to learn more about the retention period.
Read PostgreSQL to know about deleting a log-based Pipeline with PostgreSQL as the Source.
Please note that a Pipeline once deleted cannot be restored.
Note: You must be assigned the Team Administrator, Team Collaborator, Pipeline Administrator, or Pipeline Collaborator role in Hevo, to delete the Pipeline.
To delete a Pipeline:
-
Click DELETE in the Kebab menu () in the Pipeline Summary bar.
-
In the confirmation dialog that appears, click YES, DELETE THIS PIPELINE.
