Familiarizing with the Activate UI

When you click ACTIVATE in the Navigation Bar for the first time, the Activate home page is displayed. Click + CREATE ACTIVATION to set up your first Activation.

Subsequently, clicking ACTIVATE displays the Activations List View, where you can view the Activations currently created by your team. You can click on any Activation or Target to open it in the Detailed View.

Switch between the Activations and Targets tabs to view and create Activations and Targets respectively.


Activations List View

Refer to the following image and descriptions to familiarize yourself with the components of the Activations List View.

The following table describes each of these components:

Page Component Title Description
1 Title Header Displays the Activations and Targets tabs.
2 Search Bar Enables you to search for Activations created by you or your team using the:
- Partial or complete name of the Warehouse or the Target system.
- Warehouse or Target type.
- Serial number of the Activation.
3 Data Controls Enables you to control the data that is displayed. The Data Controls, from left to right are:
- Filters: List the Activations based on their status, or the name of the Warehouse or Target in the Activation.
- Newest First: Sort and display the Activations list based on the criterion selected from the drop-down. By default, the newest Activations are displayed first.
- Refresh: Allows you to view the newly created Activations that are not visible in the user interface yet.
4 + CREATE ACTIVATION button Enables you to create an Activation to synchronize data from the Warehouse with the Target.
5 Asset List Displays the list of Activations created by you or your team. This list can be refined based on the Data Controls or the search string.
6 Activation Summary Provides a summary of an existing Activation. This includes, from left to right:
- The sequential serial number assigned to the Activation at the time of creation. For example, #11.
- The name and type of the Warehouse and Target application.
- The status and data synchronization frequency of the Activation.
- The PAUSE button.

Activations Detailed View

Click anywhere in an Activations Summary row in the Activations List View to open it in the Detailed View. This view opens in the Overview tab by default. The following image highlights the main components that are displayed and the actions you can perform on the page.

The following table describes each of these components:

Page Component Title Description
1 Global Search Click in the Search Anything field in the Global Search panel to open the Search window, which lists the projects you have recently worked on. You can search for any of your Pipelines, Models, Workflows, and Destinations. Results matching the search string are displayed from all categories.
2 Tools Bar Access the Overview, Sync History, and Activity Log sections from the Tools Bar.
3 Summary Bar View a snapshot of the Activation here. It displays:
- The Activation name, the Warehouse and the Target it is built on.
- The status of the Activation. This can be Active or Failed.
- The schedule of the data synchronization. You can change this.
You can use the PAUSE/RESUME button to pause or resume the Activation respectively.

Click the kebab icon icon to access additional options or delete the Activation.
4 Target Details Displays the QUERY and MAPPING tabs along with the name of the Target Object to which the query results are loaded. You can change the mapping of the fields from the MAPPING tab.
5 Warehouse Details Displays the Warehouse name, its last refresh time, and its schema details. Click the kebab icon icon to access the Delete option, and the Expand icon to the left of the table name to view its detailed schema. Schema information is useful while creating the SQL query.
6 Query Builder The main section of the Overview tab, where you can create and test the SQL queries for your Activations. You must test and validate the query before you can save it.

7 Results Table Displays the results of testing the SQL query you created in the Query Builder.

Targets List View

Click the Targets tab in the Activate UI to access information about the Targets configured by your team.

The following table describes each of these components:

1 Title Header Displays the Activations and Targets tabs.
2 Search Bar Enables you to search for Targets created by your team using the:
- Partial or complete name of the Target.
- Target type.
- Serial number of the Activation.
3 Data Controls Enables you to control the data that is displayed. The Data Controls, from left to right are:
- Filters: List the Targets based on their status.
- Newest First: Sort and display the Targets list based on the criterion selected from the drop-down. By default, the newest Targets are displayed first.
- Refresh: Allows you to view the newly created Targets that are not visible in the user interface yet.
4 + CREATE ACTIVATION TARGET button Enables you to create a Target.
5 Asset List Displays the list of Targets created by you or your team. This list can be refined based on the Data Controls or the search string.
6 Target Summary Provides a brief summary of an existing Target. This includes, from left to right:
- The sequential serial number assigned to the Target at the time of creation. For example, #11.
- The name and type of the Target database.
- The status of the Target.

Click anywhere in the Target Summary row in the List View to open it in the Detailed View. The following image highlights the main components that are displayed and the actions you can perform on the page.
